Hello pastry junkies! I'm Daneisha, the owner of Pastry Addict. I'm a wife and mom of 4 that loves to put my passion to work! After watching my mother create a strawberry filled vanilla cake with whipped frosting for my father's birthday, the love of baking overcame me. It's something about satisfying the world with food that has always appealed to me.
One of the most common questions I get is, "How did you come up with your business name?" To tell the truth, Pastry Addict wasn't my original name. I actually started my sweets business under a completely different business name, Dani's Sweets.
Dani is a nickname given to me by my mother, and since her passing in 2005, I have always looked for creative ways to incorporate my mom into all that I do. The business name though, it just didn't work for me. It was something I thought up quick just to give myself a face on social media, and I ended up hating it after only 3 weeks of using it. I love my nickname, but Dani's Sweets just wasn't something catchy or that rolled off the tongue easily.
Fully committing to Pastry Addict was a mix of my aunt's influence and Powerpuff Girls. That's a secret I've never let out before lol! My aunt and I were brainstorming different business names and she initially suggested Pastry Addict: sugar, spice and everything nice. I loved Pastry Addict, but I couldn't get with the Powerpuff Girls reference at all, so I cut it short to just Pastry Addict, and have been putting my passion to work ever since!
With several years of experience, successes, fails, and a stomach full of dessert, I'm very proud of how far I've come in my craft! I create all of my delicious desserts in a private kitchen in Atlanta, Georgia. I work to further my expertise daily through current orders, classes, and the old fashion trial and error, which help me to stay abroad of all the new and upcoming cake trends. There's always plenty to learn, but I'm a beast at what I know so far. As always, thank you for the opportunity to create beautiful custom desserts for you!
